ABOUT OUR PHYSICIAN

Dr. Asia McDonald is an experienced family medicine physician in North Charleston, SC. She loves being a family physician and is passionate about providing her community  high-quality, personal, and affordable primary care. She is gentle and approachable, listens deeply, and enjoys growing trustful partnerships with her patients.

She graduated from Clark Atlanta University with an undergraduate degree in biology.  She earned her medical degree from the Howard University College of Medicine and received the National Health Service Corp Scholarship.  Her Family Medicine residency was completed at the Brooklyn Hospital Center in her native NYC.

Dr. McDonald is double board-certified in Family Medicine and Obesity Medicine. In addition, she's board-eligible in lifestyle medicine and emphatically believes in the power of nutrition and a healthy lifestyle to prevent, treat, and reverse disease states.   Her integrative “whole health” approach aims to empower every patient to fight for her/his optimal health.

She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, The Obesity Medicine Association, and the American College of Lifestyle Medicine.

Dr. McDonald is married and a proud mother of three.  In her spare time, she enjoys cultural activities, salsa dancing,  and a good game night with the family.
